Michael Mullen has been an educator and conservationist all of his life. As an award winning biology teacher at Menomonee Falls High School, Michael shared his love and appreciation for the natural world with thousands of students. Michael’s students participated in local water quality testing, conducted research on the effects of lead and mercury in zebrafish and completed plant research with NASA and the International Space Station. During these years Michael also served as an elementary science curriculum coach which provided him the opportunity to grow the expertise of elementary teachers in SE Wisconsin and throughout the state. Prior to receiving his masters in science education, Michael earned a bachelor’s degree in Forestry/Resource Management providing him with opportunities to work for the US Forest Service, National Park Service and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. While working in Idaho, Michael was President of the SE chapter of the Idaho Conservation League which focused on conservation efforts around water, endangered species and conservation of wild lands.
