Veronica Figueroa

Veronica Figueroa Velez is the Executive Director of UNIDOS, a statewide nonprofit agency that provides advocacy and support to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. She moved to Madison in 1994, and since then she has established herself in the community. For the last 12 years has engaged actively in the community working in the movement of ending violence against women and empowering people. Veronica is also the owner of MVF Art and Design, a business that offers affordable access to creative workshops and community art projects for adults and youth.

She began her education at the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico. In 2003 she obtained an associate’s degree in Graphic Design from Madison College. She continued to pursue her education, and in 2005 she earned an associate’s degree in Liberal Arts at Madison College. In 2012 Veronica received the AODA counseling certification from the Minority Counseling Institute. In 2014, she received her BA in Art Therapy from Madison Edgewood College. She sees art as a healing tool and enjoys introducing people to new art experiences. Creativity is the door to your soul that allows you to transcend to higher consciousness.
