In a key U-S Senate race, Democrat Tammy Baldwin and Republican Tommy Thompson spent part of their first debate Friday night fighting over health care issues.
Thompson was Health and Human Services Secretary for four years under President George W. Bush. Thompsonsays President Obama’s health care reform law has to be repealed.
“Right now the Affordable Care Act has 20 taxes increased in there. We gotta do away with the Affordable Care Act,” he says.

As a member of the House of Representatives, Baldwin voted for the health care law. She says it’s helping many Americans.
“People who are Medicare now get free preventative care,” she says.”He would throw all that out and it’s irresponsible.”
Baldwin and Thompson are competing to replace retiringfour-term Democratic SenatorHerb Kohl.
