Democratic gubernatorial candidate Kelda Roys says she has raised $800,000 so far and has $650,000 cash on hand as the Aug. 14 primary nears.
Roys is the first of eight Democrats in the race to report some fundraising numbers from reports that are due to the state Monday.
The reports provide a measurement of how the candidates are doing and who is in position to afford television advertising leading up to the primary.

The winner of the primary will face Republican Gov. Scott Walker.
Roys is a former state representative from Madison. She says she raised $650,000 in the first six months of the year.
Roys did not say in her statement announcing the totals whether she had loaned her campaign any money and her spokesman refused to say.
