Gov. Scott Walker says he appreciates GOP presidential candidate Ted Cruz trying to raise money to shrink Walker’s presidential campaign debt. But he said he’s not in the Texas U.S. senator’s camp.
Walker’s campaign debt as of September, when he dropped out of the race, was more than $1.5 million. He won’t disclose his current debt and doesn’t have to for a couple more weeks.
Walker just says he’s glad his former rival has put out a call to his backers on social media to help the governor financially.

“Sen. Cruz, like many others in the campaign, got to know us and our team and wants to help us out,” Walker said.
But he made sure to stop short of endorsing Cruz for the Republican nomination.
“We’ve had other candidates that have offered help along the way,” said Walker. “Nothing as specific as this, but others who’ve connect us to folks who could help with that as well.”
Walker said it’s still premature to discuss whether he’d endorse Donald Trump if the New York billionaire is the eventual Republican nominee.
