The state says Milwaukee-based Capitol Police officer Greg Friberg is in stable condition and is recuperating after suffering two stab wounds to his neck yesterday.
The Department of Administration says Friberg was stabbed when he responded to a security call inside the State Office Building in downtown Milwaukee.
Governor Scott Walker says security measures at the building will be reviewed: “Not so much for my office there, but for all the public employees and for the public who use that facility, for all the folks who come in from southeastern Wisconsin, we want to make sure they continue to be safe.”

Walker says the stabbing took place one floor below his Milwaukee office. Walker was not in the building at the time. A West Allis man has been taken into custody in connection with the incident.
