Gov. Scott Walker joined Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz on stage Tuesday night in Milwaukee at the candidates’ victory party after he won Wisconsin’s GOP presidential primary.
A few minutes later, as he posed for photographs, Walker said he was glad to help Cruz win the Wisconsin contest.
“We helped get the message out, but the people of Wisconsin made it happen,” he said. “We just got the message out … we knew if the message got out, he’d win.”

Walker recently endorsed Cruz, whom he ran against last year during his own failed presidential bid. The governor brushed off a question about whether he wants to be Cruz’s running mate should the U.S. senator from Texas overcome GOP frontrunner Donald Trump’s lead in the presidential race and become the Republican presidential nominee. Walker said that he’s just worrying about Cruz capturing the nomination.
Walker said he’d love to run for Governor in 2018, but won’t make an official decision until after this year’s presidential campaign.
