Governor Scott Walker called the Internal Revenue Service’s targeting of Tea Party groups for heightened scrutiny a “real threat to our freedoms.”
Walker told reporters it should concern people of all political beliefs.
“I think it’s much bigger than just a temporary political story out of Washington. I think it is going to have a lingering effect, and it unfortunately at least at the national level breeds more discontent and distrust with the federal government. I hope the President would do more than just saying he’s frustrated with it. I hope the President and the Congress would make some sort of substantive changes to ensure that would never happen again.”
