Challenging Conventional Wisdom On Pregnancy
Economist Emily Oster was overwhelmed by all of the advice she was given while pregnant with her first child. A social scitentist, she began investigating data to understand risk and outcome and discovered that conventional wisdom about pregnancy may be flawed. One example she gives is the light consumption of alcohol – which may not actually have a negative impact on developing fetuses.
