In 1986, an American, Tom Holzle, organizes his own expedition in an attempt to recover the bodies of Mallory and Irvine, but discover nothing. The development of the internet brings new clues as on-line sleuths begin to piece together the pair’s disappearance. In 1999, the Mallory and Irvine Research Expedition is formed to find the men’s bodies.
