Conversations about Theater

This week on “Newsmakers” we’re looking back on the career of local theatre director, professor and advocate, Mary Leonard. Mary is currently directing her last show as a professor in UW-La Crosse’s department of theatre and dance. It’s the popular musical version of “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels,” and it opens on April 21 at UWL.

Then, after a five year hiatus, the university is re-launching its long-running summer musical tradition. This year, director Greg Parmeter is hoping to get UWL and Viterbo University students and members of the greater La Crosse community to audition for roles in Rogers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella.”
