Created 100 years ago, the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Reserve is 240,000 acre refuge across five midwest states. We’ll talk to refuge manager Sabrina Chandler and biologist Stephen Winter live from the Black River Beach Neighborhood Center in La Crosse.

The La Crosse area spoils hikers and bikers with more than 100 miles of trails – both paved, long-distance paths and twisty, mountain biking singletrack – through the riverlands and bluffs. We get a tour of the area from two outdoor recreation leaders in the area, Sami Meyer and Jed Olson.
