We welcome Jim and Jean King, the founders of the student information software company Skyward, along with Portage County Executive Patty Dreier. The Kings announced ambitious expansion plans for their company, including the construction of a new global headquarters in Stevens Point, and increasing the number of employees from about 400 to over 1000.The plans were made possible by a legislative victory, in which the state’s single vendor policy was repealed, allowing Skyward to continue serving more than half the schools in Wisconsin. We’ll discuss the regional economic impact of the Skyward expansion and the bipartisan coalition of local politicians that achieved the legislative victory.
