The Metropolitan Opera

Since 1931, radio broadcasts from “The Metropolitan Opera” have been a Saturday tradition in many American households. Met Opera broadcasts are usually performed live from Lincoln Center in New York City and can be heard from December through June on WPR Music.

The Metropolitan Opera’s 2024-25 season of Saturday afternoon broadcasts will run Dec. 7, 2024 through June 7, 2025. In addition to new performances from the most recent Metropolitan Opera season, the schedule includes archival broadcasts of favorite classics including “Carmen,” “Aida,” and a vintage recording from 1982 of Engelbert Humperdinck’s “Hansel and Gretel.”
