The Metropolitan Opera

Since 1931, radio broadcasts from “The Metropolitan Opera” have been a Saturday tradition in many American households. Met Opera broadcasts are usually performed live from Lincoln Center in New York City and can be heard from December through on WPR’s NPR News & Music Network.

The Metropolitan Opera’s 2023-24 season of Saturday afternoon broadcasts will run Dec. 9 through June 8, 2024. The season also includes archival broadcasts of favorite classics featuring “Cinderella” and a vintage recording from 1974 of Donizetti’s “L’Elisir d’Amore.”
