Clocks in Motion is an ensemble with the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Music. They’ve served as resident performers and educators at the Interlochen Arts Academy, Rhapsody Arts Center, University of Michigan, Baldwin-Wallace University, and the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art.
The members of the ensemble are Dave Alcorn, Jennifer Hedstrom, Sean Kleve, Michael Koszewski, James McKenzie and Matthew Schlomer. They’ll be playing Friday, February 13th at 7:30pm at the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery on the UW-Madison campus.
Matthew Coley also performs with the ensemble from time to time. He talks about the hammer dulcimer and the types of marimbas. He plays selections on marimba by Shostakovich, Villa Lobos, Bizet and modern composer Jeffrey Holmes. Finally, Clocks in Motion and Matthew Coley, playing the hammer dulcimer, perform a piece by Valeriu Luta.
