Stephanie Elkins talks to violinist and Madison Symphony concert master Naha Greenholtz. She will be performing the “Chaconne” from The Red Violin with the MSO this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and plays several samples in the studio. The MSO will also be performing Gustav Holst’s “The Planets.”
Greenholtz studied under concert master Bill Preucil, who is currently with the Cleveland Orchestra, and earned her BM from Juilliard. A concert master’s duties include ensuring rehearsals go smoothly and are intricately involved in the process and collaboration between the different artists and the pieces they are playing.
