In an effort to improve outcomes for infants and new moms, Milwaukee is planning to provide doulas, or birth companions, to 100 new mothers in the city’s 53206 zip code. We learn how doulas support parents and their babies, and how they fit into Governor Evers’ larger, $28 million statewide initiative to reduce healthcare disparities among women.
