Advocates urge NARCAN for overdose prevention

in the most recent year statistics are available, 1,775 people died of overdoses in Wisconsin. That’s a death rate of 31.6 per 100,000, squarely in the middle of the pack nationally. Today on “Newsmakers,” we’re joined by two members of the Alliance to HEAL, a La Crosse area coalition of individuals and organizations working to save people from addiction. This month the group’s focus is specifically on calling attention to the number of overdose deaths in Wisconsin. Our guests are Jennie Steele, a prevention specialist at Vivent Health, and Jennifer Subkowiak, a recovery navigator at Coulee Recovery Center.
