Wisconsin Third Congressional District Republican Forum Part 1
Voters in Wisconsin’s Third Congressional District go to the polls August 12 to select a Republican who will challenge incumbent Congressman Ron Kind (D-La Crosse) in November’s general election. A forum with two of the three Republicans was recorded in WPR’s La Crosse and Eau Claire studios on July 29. It features two of the three Republicans who are running in the primary election, Karen Mueller of Chippewa Falls and Ken Van Doren of Mauston. Tony Kurtz of Prairie du Chien was unable to attend the forum because of a prior commitment.
In the forum’s first segment, we hear the candidate’s views on the major foreign policy challenges of the day, immigration reform, the federal budget and job creation and their views on agriculture.

In the forum’s second segment, we hear the candidate’s views on the Affordable Care Act, problems providing health care to some veterans, gun control and whether Congress should get involved in new education standards known as Common Core.
