Today on Newsmakers, we’re focusing on two races for the state legislature. First, in the 31st Assembly district, the incumbent Democratic Sen. Jeff Smith takes on Republican candidate Dave Estenson. We’ll hear from both candidates. In the 70th Assembly district, the Republican candidate is the incumbent, Rep. Nancy VanderMeer. Her campaign was invited to schedule an interview, but did not. She faces the Democratic candidate Remy Gomez. We’ll hear from Gomez about why he’s running.
