For the 27th year, progressive energy and sustainability advocates, entrepreneurs and enthusiasts gather in Custer for the annual Energy Fair. Midwest Renewable Energy Association Development Director Doug Stingle epmhasized how the event has attracted national and even global attention. That is pretty evident with the caliber of speakers The Energy Fair has attracted over the years.
Fresh Energy Science Policy Advisor J. Drake Hamilton is a keynote speaker at the fair. She believes that we are “on the cusp of an energy revolution.” “Despite a lack of support from legislation, renewable energy sources are expanding at a rapid rate,” Hamilton said. “Electric utilities all across the midwest and the country are finding that right now, because of these price decreases and improvements in technology. These renewable energy sources can beat out natural gas and other fossil fuels in the marketplace today.”
Rob Peck, Design Consultant for North Wind Renewable Energy, says “America’s electrical grid is a matter of national security. An article in Forbes Magazine says that a well-placed nuclear device could wipe out electricity for the entire nation. Peck refers to the Energy Fair as a “Renewable Energy Christmas.”
The Energy Fair runs June 17-19 in Custer, WI.
