This week we welcome central Wisconsin musician Peter Phippen for an hour of live music and conversation. Phippen’s latest CD, Woodnotes Wyld: Historic Flute Sounds From the Dr. Richard W. Payne Collection, has been nominated for a Grammy award in the Best Native American Vocal or Instrumental category. Phippen has achieved international acclaim as an innovative performer of world flute music. Central Wisconsin rock fans will also remember Phippen as the bass player for the band Airkraft, which produced four critically acclaimed albums in the 1980’s. Peter Phippen will be joined by fellow Airkraft alumnus and guitarist Mitch Viegut, and by keyboardist John Altenburgh. Viegut and Altenburgh?s band Johnny and the MoTones have a new CD release, Nothin’ to Lose.
