Wust El Balad

This week features another of our special music shows… with the groundbreaking Egyptian folk rock band Wust El Balad. The group, which includes both Christian and Muslim musicians, incorporates modern rock and jazz themes with traditional and ancient Egyptian influences. They have become one of the most popular bands in their homeland. We will ask the musicians about their influences, about the sources of their inspiration, and about the positive role music can play in a volatile part of the world. The program will feature music performed live in our Wisconsin Public Radio studio.
