“Simply Superior” Looks at How Northwest Wisconsin Counties Contributed One Quarter of Biden’s Statewide Margin
If you saw the three blue spots in a sea of red on the presidential results map of Northwestern Wisconsin, that would be Douglas, Ashland and Bayfield counties. The three traditionally Democratic areas did more than stay true to their political roots; they contributed roughly one-fourth of the 20,000 vote margin former Vice President Joe Biden garnered to wrest Wisconsin away from President Donald Trump in Tuesday’s election
Simply Superior host Robin Washington discusses the local vote impact, as well as local races on both the Minnesota and Wisconsin sides of the bay with our Regional News in Review Team – Brooks Johnson of the Star Tribune and WPR Superior-based reporter Danielle Kaeding.
Also on this week’s show: Washington talks with L. David Mech, about his recently published memoir “Wolf Island” a detailed account of three summers starting in 1958 Mech spent observing wolves in the isolated island wilderness of Isle Royale which was the basis of his world-renowned research about these widely misunderstood creatures. Mech is also the founder of the International Wolf Center in Ely.
