Dozens of northwestern Wisconsin delegates ranging from high school students to senior business and civic leaders descended on Madison this week for the 39th Annual Superior Days at the state capitol. On hand to greet them were Gov. Tony Evers and numerous other elected and administrative officials — decision-makers who otherwise may not hear the concerns of the northwest corner of the state 325 miles away.
Activities included speeches by Evers and other officials, a behind-the-scenes look at lobbying for northwest Wisconsin at the Capitol and the Parade of Products showing off the region’s wares, ranging from kombucha and bagels to a soon-to-be-christened floating classroom and research vessel, which will be harbored in Lake Superior later this year.
