With the retirement of Democratic state Sen. Janet Bewly, currently the Senate minority leader, the race to represent the 25th District seat covering most of northwest Wisconsin is particularly competitive. One candidate on the November ballot is Republican Romaine Quinn of Cameron, a former Assembly member who early in his career was the youngest person elected mayor of Rice Lake. Hoping to keep the seat in Democratic hands is Kelly Westlund, the longtime Northwest Regional Representative for U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin and a small business owner. The two square off in a debate of regional and national issues moderated by “Simply Superior” host Robin Washington.
