Federal cuts to medical research in Wisconsin
This month, the National Institutes of Health issued a directive that would cap grant funding for overhead costs of research at 15 percent. UW-Madison stands to lose at least $62 million a year if the cuts go into effect. The first hearing in the federal lawsuit challenging the NIH directive is set for Feb. 21.
