Some Milwaukee Brewers fans are saying “wait until next year” after one of the worst seasons in franchise history.
The Brewers lost to the Chicago Cubs on Sunday, ending a season in which Milwaukee’s losing started early and continued to a final won-loss record of 68-94.
Manager Craig Counsell said he’ll spend the winter thinking of how the team can improve.

“I think the wheels are going to keep turning,” said Counsell. “You try to turn them off, but they’re probably going to keep turning as to what’s next.”
Brewers fans who attended the last game seem willing to give Counsell a chance. One fan named Bob noted that the Cubs have turned things around this year and are in the playoffs. “So perhaps we can be contenders, too,” he said.
Another fan named Kathy said she’ll come back next year, for the experience.
“It is more than the game,” she said. “It’s the environment.”
Not everyone seems to be of like mind: Attendance at Miller Park dropped by 250,000 this year.
