The Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. will give its board members more information than usual about the pending contract for Wisconsin’s $3 billion deal with Foxconn, WEDC’s CEO said Friday.
WEDC CEO Mark Hogan told board members via email they will get access to the entire Foxconn contract before they’re scheduled for vote on it next week. Typically, board members only get to see a staff memo outlining the contract.
“I have said many times this is a complex transaction and it is important to get it done right, both for the company and its investors, as well as WEDC, the state and our taxpayers,” Hogan’s email read. “Given we are very close on the contract language, and given the size of the award, now is the appropriate time to make it available to you as board members.”

Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have pushed for the WEDC board to get access to the full contract in recent weeks.
Those calls came after questions were raised about taxpayer protections in the contract, including ways for the state to claw back money if Foxconn doesn’t meet certain job creation requirements.
The board is expected to vote on the contract Wednesday. The contract will be made public after it is approved.
