On Sunday, an explosion in a park in Lahore, Pakistan killed at least 70 people and injured hundreds. Despite the severity of this terrorist attack, U.S. media outlets didn’t give it as much coverage as an attack in Brussels last week, which killed 35 people and injured hundreds more. We talk to a media expert about the inequality in media coverage of terrorism around the world. We also explore creatures made famous in Wisconsin folklore, and talk about why Wisconsin is a key state in teh presidential race as all five presidential candidates appear in Wisconsin ahead of next week’s state primaries.

The Difference In How The Media Covers Terrorist Attacks, Depending On Where They Happen
A terrorist attack in Pakistan on Sunday killed at least 70 people and injured hundreds more. The suicide bomb explosion detonated in a park in the city of Lahore, and Reuters reported that many of the casualties included women and children. The news agency also said a faction of the Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, This tragic attack did lead some of the newscasts here in the U.S., but it didn’t garner the mass media attention that ISIS attacks in Belgium did last week. We speak to an expert from Mediaite about why the media covers terrorist attacks differently, depending on where they happen.
