Wisconsin zoos are beginning to reopen with new safety precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The Milwaukee County Zoo announced it will open as an “outdoor experience” on Saturday, June 13.
The zoo will open outdoor habitats to a limited daily capacity. Visitors will make ticket reservations online for a specific entry time. All visitors over the age of 3 years old will be required to wear a mask and maintain 6 feet of physical distancing from other people.

In a press release, Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley said the new limitations are “Phase I of the reopening transition for the Zoo.”
In Green Bay, the NEW Zoo & Adventure Park will reopen on Wednesday, June 10.
Visitors who are not members of the zoo will be required to purchase tickets in advance. In a press release, officials said capacity will be limited and visitors may have to wait to enter the zoo until others have left. Visitors are encouraged to wear masks.
The Racine Zoo reopened several outdoor habitats to a limited number of visitors on May 26. Traffic through the zoo is one-way and visitors over the age of 2 are required to wear a mask
The Henry Vilas Zoo in Madison and the Minnesota Zoo near the Twin Cities have not announced plans to reopen.
